Born on October 22nd, 1973 in Funabashi city Chiba prefecture. he lived in Hokkaido before entering elementary school and took the last name “ Horii ” which is his father’s family name. When he entered elementary school, they moved to Funabashi and changed the family name to “ Ariga ”, which is his mother’s family name.

Entered Funabashi Aikido doyu-kai when he started high school in 1989 (15 years old), and met Endo Shihan. Entered Shukutoku university, at the same time he organized the Aikido group and lead it for three and half years.

After graduating from university, he did not try to get a regular job but spent the most of time mainly doing Aikido Keiko for 6 years. In particular, saved money and tried  to attend Endo Shihan’s seminars abroad. Moved into Saku dojo when was 28 years old and started working full time as an Aikido professional until the present.

He currently holds the rank of Aikikai 6th dan,  received in January 2015.

Nato il 22 ottobre del 73, nella cittadina di Funabashi, presso la prefettura di Chiba. Ha vissuto in Hokkaido, prima di entrare alle scuole elementari con il cognome “Horii” che è quello della famiglia di suo padre, ma dopo essersi spostati a Funabashi, ha cambiato il cognome in “Ariga” che è quello della famiglia della madre.Iniziate le superiori, nell’89, entra nel Club di Aikido di Funabashi ed incontra Endo Sensei, all’età di 15 anni. Entrato alla Shukutoku University, nello stesso periodo Endo sensei costituì il Dojo Universitario, che condusse per tre anni e mezzo. Dopo la laurea, non cercò mai un vero lavoro ma passò la maggior parte del tempo a praticare Aikido ed a conservare i soldi per partecipare ai seminari di Endo sensei all’estero, per circa 6 anni. All’età di 28 anni, si trasferisce a Saku dove ha iniziato a dedicarsi al professionismo in maniera definitiva. Attualmente è stato insignito del titolo di 6th dan  dal Hombu Dojo.
